The Equipment Snowboarders Need

There is a lot about snowboarding that you might not know. For one the equipment used can vary from style to style. If you are a freestyle rider than you might use a softer book and a board that has a twin tipped end. Also if you are going to freestyle then you have to use a duck foot style where the back foot has a negative arc. The leading foot then is a positive arc. Now, if you are a freestyle rider who fancies yourself as a jibber then you might use a shorter board as it’s something that is easier to balance and control. They often have a softer flex and the edges are filed down which allows the board to be moved and controlled faster, and less flex means that a rider has to do less to make a trick or a move happen.

There are also things known as rocker boards which have a better flex and allows pressing to be easier. If you aren’t sure what pressing is then you should watch the next time a snowboarder is riding on the front end of the board and the back end is elevated. This means the board is “pressing.” Also, when you are freestyling, there are a multitude of tricks that can be performed and are performed on a half pipe. The half pipe itself is made through snow in a tube. They perform tricks like a 360 or another trick like the “McTwist.” Of course all tricks can be altered and augmented depending on the way that the pipe is hit. The world of snowboarding is exploding and these different forms and equipment are becoming essential to the hardcore snow boarder. But these features are not only essential to the growth of the sport but to its excitement as well.
